Meggitt Safety Systems awarded Boeing contract for 777 flight lock actuators

Meggitt Safety Systems Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a seven-year contract for the design, development and production of the flight lock actuators for Boeing's 777 family of commercial airplanes.

Meggitt Safety Systems, based in Simi Valley, CA., is a leading provider of fire detection systems for a variety of commercial and military aircraft. The flight lock actuator contract represents a new product line for the company.

Meggitt Safety Systems has supplied Boeing with a variety of products since 1963. Pneumatic fire and overheat detection systems are used on virtually all Boeing aircraft models and smoke detectors and high performance engine cables on several Boeing commercial aircraft types.

The company produces fire and overheat and bleed air leak detection systems for many Boeing military aircraft including the F/A-18, F-15E and the AH-64 helicopter.
